MoveOn Moves In On NC-08

MoveOn.org is moving in on Robin Hayes with another in its series of "Red-Handed" ads: Caught red-handed again: Robin Hayes accepted $40,000 from defense contractors then opposed penalties for over-charging.

Obviously MoveOn.org senses an opportunity in NC-08.  Robin Hayes had his opportunity and has his hands dirty.  Time for Larry Kissell to clean House.

Since posting this, blogger response to the ad has been lukewarm.  On one hand something is needed to balance Hayes' negative ads,  but some feel that that balance should be Kissell's positive campaign.

It's an independent expenditure in a free country and they can do whatever they want. It fits into the MoveOn series and it makes them, at least nationally, look like knights in shining (or at least slightly scuffed) armor, coming in to "save the day".

I probably would have made the ad more strident and left off Dick Cheney.  He and Halliburton are old news that never stuck.  We lost 2004, let's move on.

Talked too fast for down here (none / 0)

They need to get southerners to deliver the message to southern markets. Yep, the Cheney stuff was a distraction. They needed to focus on the one issue. This will add little to Kissell's campaign.
